Project: Love Letter to Malibu

An unforeseen backdrop that gave the images a haunting beauty was the aftermath of the Malibu wildfires, which coincided with the pre-planned photoshoot for Parke & Ronen’s Spring 2019 Campaign. This campaign, which was inspired by the iconic romanticism of the coastal town and guided by the Creative Director’s prompt “Love Letter to Malibu” came to life through a variety of physical and digital media including lookbooks, promotional postcards, email campaigns, display ads, and web assets.

Key Contribution:

Art Direction: The campaign lookbook’s layout and images were curated to represent themes of love and loss amid unexpected devastation with the credits page styled as a postcard on the back cover.

Typography played a key role in reinforcing this mood: a handwritten, intimate style was chosen for the campaign title “Love Letter to Malibu” to add a personal touch, while bolder typefaces were used across emails and marketing materials to inject energy and create synergy with the imagery.
